Criteria for applications to PYV for monetary contributions to camps

The camp must be in line with the aim and objectives of PYV:

  • To develop and nurture youth for the service of Christ
  • To provide support and nurture for youth in their Christian development and outreach.
  • To encourage and provide the opportunity for the equipping and training of youth leaders with the skills necessary to serve and lead.
  • To provide opportunity, influence and assistance to youth to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

The camp must be tied to and approved by a congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria.

The application should outline approximately how many leaders will be recruited, and what training will be given to them prior to camp.

The application should include a description of the talk/study content.

The camp organisers should present to PYV Council a written report within the month following camp including: numbers of campers present, any changes to the talk/study content, any major injuries, handling of major discipline issues, financial report and improvement ideas for next time. The report should be one page or less.

Camp leaders must be accredited by the camp organisers (or their church) according to "Breaking the Silence" protocols. During camp, the "Breaking the Silence" Protecting Children Policy (Appendix 4) must be understood and adhered to.

The application should include a budget of the planned expenses and the amount being requested from PYV.

How to apply:
Write to PYV Council, outlining the details of the planned camp and how it meets the above criteria. Financial preference will be given to those who apply by 1st November of the preceding year, however, if money remains applications will remain open after this date.
