As we hope you have already heard, a new event has been included in the 2008 PYV calendar: the “Big Plug.” Scheduled for Sunday 1st June 2008, this event has been created so local congregations can personally hear and see the work of PYV from members of their own congregation (or by using the “Big Plug Pack”).

Included in this pack:

• 3-5 minute DVD outlining the role of PYV, showcasing footage from camps & events, and the personal experiences of PYV leaders and campers
• A script that can be used by pastors/ministers, teenagers or young adults during the service to promote PYV
• “Big Plug” poster
• PYV Calendar
• PYV pamphlets
• Leadership accreditation forms
• Flyers for up-and-coming events (PYV Volleyball competition).

We encourage pastors/ministers to put aside 10-15 minutes of the worship service to implement the “Big Plug” in one or more of the following ways:

1. Ask one or more teenagers or young adults in your congregation involved with PYV to give a 10 minute presentation on PYV (using the provided script & their own personal testimony.)
2. Play the supplied DVD during their presentation to show the congregation what PYV does. Otherwise show the DVD throughout the week at Bible study/cell group/Youth Group etc.
3. Distribute the supplied pamphlets, flyers and general information to the congregation after the service or set up a table to display the information.
4. Promote the retiring offering, which will be held to assist PYV with its continuing leadership development. Donations can be sent to the PCV Church Office via EFT or as cheques made out to “PYV”. Please include a short note specifying your congregation and mentioning the PYV “Big Plug”.

If you don’t have any youth in your congregation we strongly urge you to continue with the “Big Plug” by watching the DVD or praying for PYV.
