PYV Council

The PYV Council is responsible for overseeing the youth work within the Presbyterian Church of Victoria.

The Council comprises up to ten members who are elected for two year terms, with five up for election each year at the Annual General Meeting.

The current PYV Councillors are:

Council meets roughly 9 to 10 times a year to plan, discuss and further the work of the Gospel in youth ministry in Victoria.

Each member of Council is responsible for overseeing portfolios of PYV's ministry. These portfolios include:

Two members of the Christian Education and Nurture Committee also attend each Council meeting to assist and provide advice to the the Council. The CENC has been delegated authority over PYV by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. The current CENC reps to PYV are:

    Joy Venning - Convenor

    Joy has been the Youth Worker at Canterbury Presbyterian since April 2009.

    As well as being Convenor of PYV, Joy looks after the Training portfolios for PYV.

    Joy is the Council member to contact for any queries regarding Leadership Accreditation too.

    Tia Wishart - Secretary

    Tia has just completed her final year studying at the Melbourne School of Fashion, and attends the Mornington and Dromana Presbyterian Churches.

    Tia oversees the merchandise portfolio for PYV, and is also the Secretary of PYV.

    Joe Dunning - Treasurer

    Joe is an accountant for Melbourne City Mission, and is a youth leader with the Shebab youth group based at the South Yarra Presbyterian Church.

    Joe is PYV's treasurer.

    Chiara Bilyj

    Chiara is married to Nic and mother to baby Sapphire. Chiara studied Journalism at Deakin University, and is the current Editor of Fellow Workers, the newsletter of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. When she's not busy doing that, Chiara is heavily involved in her home church, Heathmont Presbyterian.

    Nic Bilyj

    Nic attends Heathmont Presbyterian, and is married to Chiara. When he's not restoring old cars or building or fixing houses and gardens, he's a site supervisor with JG King.

    Nic looks after the Heathmont House portfoilo for PYV, and is the guy to contact if you want to hire out the meeting rooms at HH. Nic can be contacted at:

    Lilly Lietz

    Lilly is PYV's newest Councillor, coming onboard in December 2011.

    A youth leader at Canterbury Presbyterian Church, Lilly spends her weeks working at Officeworks, catching up with friends, and playing soccer with the Donvale Presbyterian Soccer Club.

    Lilly is overseeing the operation of PYV's first aid portfolio in 2012.

    Josie Millsteed

    Josie is a youth leader at Surrey Hills Presbyterian and studies at Monash University.

    Josie oversees PYV's Music portfolio, and if you need to contact her you can do so using the following:

    Maddy O'Brien

    Maddy is in her fourth year of studying Early Childhood and Primary Education at ACU, and is a youth leader at Canterbury Presbyterian Church.

    Maddy oversees PYV's website portfolio, covering both pyv.org.au and Facebook (PYV - Presbyterian Youth Victoria), and the prayer portfolio.

      CENC REPRESENTATIVES

      Rev. Scott Kroeger

      Scott is pastor to the Hume Presbyterian Church in Greenvale. Prior to that he has served in a number of Presbyterian churches in Victoria and also as a Staff Worker at RMIT University.

      Scott is also Convenor of the Christian Education and Nurture Committee.
